Exclusive: Ash gets hitched in new Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 pic!

That lovable lug Ashley J. Williams, played so memorably by Bruce Campbell, is coming back to the boob tube next month when Ash vs. Evil Dead returns to Starz with an all-new set of disgusting adventures for him and his pals Kelly and Pablo. This season, however, the gang gets a new member in the form of Brandy Barr, Ash's long lost daughter played by Arielle Carver-O'Neill. Wonder if she's just as much of a numbskull as her old man...

Where did this daughter come from? Well, turns out our boy Ash has a secret past none of us knew about, including (we can only assume) a shotgun wedding to Brandy's mother, Candy, played by Katrina Hobbs. (Yep, Brandy and Candy.) In an EXCLUSIVE image from the upcoming season, we can show you what that wedding between Ash and Candy looked like. And it's just as classy as one would expect!

    The third season...

"finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long lost daughter who’s been entrusted in his care. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. But evil will learn to never get in between a papa bear and his cub."

Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3 premieres on Starz February 25th. Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago and Lucy Lawless all return, with newcomers Carver-O'Neill and Lindsay Farris joining in.

Ash vs Evil Dead S03E01: Family

Brandy Barr ( Arielle Carver-O'Neill) is

Ash vs Evil Dead S03E02: Booth Three.

Ash vs Evil Dead S03E05 is heel erg Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawnish. I like, i like very much.

It may be game over for Ash. He is mortal. That’s it.”

    1 Ash vs Evil Dead /Stargate SG-1

Ja een gedeelde plaats voor deze 2 series

New Evil Dead Incarnations Teased by Bruce Campbell

Ash Vs. Evil Dead may have been canceled but the Evil Dead franchise itself isn't totally dead. Fans have been very upset since the series was axed by Starz, but quickly it became clear that the franchise, in some form or another, is going to continue. Unfortunately, it looked like whatever form that continuation takes, it's going to be without Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, as he announced his retirement from the character shortly after the cancellation. But now, the actor is teasing some new incarnations of Evil Dead that he may or may not be involved in.

Recently, Bruce Campbell was asked on Twitter if he would be open to possibly doing any motion capture or voice work on an Evil Dead video game. Campbell responded and, while not revealing too much, he made it clear that he knows what is going on with the franchise and didn't rule out the possibility of his involvement. Here's what he had to say about it.

"Fans are wonderfully nit-picky. I can't talk particulars yet, but I think fans will dig the upcoming incarnations."

What this means for sure is that there are new projects being worked onalready. He did use the word incarnations, plural, which means we could have more than one thing in the works. Beyond that, the big question mark is whether or not Bruce Campbell will walk back his comments about retiring as Ash. Surely any Evil Dead project would at the very least have him as a consultant and likely a producer, but that doesn't mean he has to do any work as Ash. But, this question was specifically addressing him playing Ash in a video game and he didn't say no. That should be just enough to give fans hope we may see at least a little more Ash in the future.

But what might this project be? We know that an Ash vs. Evil Dead revival is all but off the table entirely without Bruce Campbell's involvement. Fede Alvarez, who directed the Evil Dead remake, also recently teased his interest in finally doing a sequel via a Twitter poll, so that could finally be happening. We also know that Sam Raimi and producer Rob Tapert have been discussing what a new incarnation might be.

Beyond that, it is entirely possible a video game could happen, and let's not rule out the possibility of some comic books. Whatever the case may be, it sounds like the franchise won't be gone for long and that multiple gears, possibly in multiple different mediums, are turning. It's a world of possibilities, but do any of them involve Ash Williams? We can only hope at this point, but there is at the very least a little reason to hold onto that hope.
    bron

    Spoiler:

Jason Goes To Hell Director Shares More Insight Into The Evil Dead Connection

Jason Goes To Hell, the ninth installment in the iconic Friday the 13th movie series, shares some DNA with the Evil Dead franchise.

Mr. Voorhees isn’t opposed to a film crossover, given he’s previously shared the screen with Freddy Krueger of A Nightmare on Elm Street. But the connective tissue between Jason Goes to Hell and those Deadites is much more subtle in nature, as it involves a reference to the famous Necronomicon.

Adam Marcus, director of Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, has previously elaborated on his choice to make Voorhees a Deadite, but thanks to a new interview with Syfy Wire (h/t ComicBook.com), the creator dives that little bit deeper into what it was like bringing two horror franchises together, despite the fact that they hail from two different studios.

"If I just take that prop and put [the Necronomicon] in the Voorhees house, and use the Kandarian dagger as the thing that kills Jason, what I’m doing is setting up a mythology that Jason’s mom wanted her son back so badly that she made a deal with the darkness. So she reads from the Necronomicon and brings about the resurrection of her son, so now the fact he lived at the bottom of the lake and grows two feet makes sense."

For horror fans, it was the finale of Jason Goes to Hell that still lives long in the memory, as it showed the hapless Voorhees being dragged to hell by the outstretched hand – claw, really – of Freddy Krueger, ultimately leading to their unforgettable union some years later.

As for The Final Friday, Marcus spoke more about making what he describes as a referential horror movie:

"Jason Goes To Hell is one of the most referential horror movies ever made. We see the Necronomicon and Kandarian dagger from Evil Dead, The Crate from Creepshow in the basement of the Voorhees house, and you’ve got Cunningham County. The jungle gym at the end is from The Birds. Universal packed it up and gave it to me and I put a bird at the top of it.

I asked if New Line owned the rights to Freddy so I called up my two executives, Mike De Luca, and Mark Ordesky, the guy who brought Lord of the Rings to New Line. I told them I wanted the glove and his laugh for the movie and I gave them the ending I wanted. Freddy just died in Freddy’s Dead and he’s in Hell."

Bruce Campbell Believes Evil Dead Has a Future Without Ash

Actor Bruce Campbell has become synonymous with Ash Williams, the Deadite-slaying star of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise; it's a fact Campbell himself jokingly bemoaned in 2007's meta horror-comedy My Name is Bruce. Still, after 3 feature films and 3 seasons of Starz's now-cancelled Ash vs Evil Dead, Campbell broke legions of horror fans' hearts by stating emphatically that he's retired from the franchise. While it was recently announced that Ash, along with his team of "Ghost Beaters" from the TV series, will regroup digitally in an upcoming Evil Dead-themed video game, the actor still believes there's a chance for more films and/or TV shows-just not with him.

So, what exactly does Campbell have in mind for a potential Evil Deadfranchise reboot? Here's what he told ComicBook.com:

"You have Ash's daughter, Brandy [played by Arielle Carver-O'Neill]. She provides the lineage. Ray [Santiago] is a shaman now, you know as Pablo, and Kelly [played by Dana DeLorenzo] is just a full-on Lucy Lawless type badass who's got vengeance in her eyes. So, that's enough for me, three's a good number. I would also continue the movies with Mia, with Jane Levy, because she's awesome."

I'm especially enamored with Campbell's idea of making more Evil Deadmovies featuring Jane Levy as Mia, the star of 2013's reboot, directed by the incomparable Fede Alvarez-and I'm not the only one. Alvarez floated the idea by his fans when, in the aftermath of Ash vs Evil Dead's cancellation, he asked his Twitter followers which they'd rather see: Evil Dead Part 2 or Don't Breathe Part 2? Evil Dead won the survey by a hefty margin. While it was all hypothetical and, to our knowledge, no plans have been set into motion for another Alvarez/Levy reunion, it shows the director's willingness to revisit the property. In 2013's Evil Dead:

"Mia (Jane Levy), a drug addict, is determined to kick the habit. To that end, she asks her brother, David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend, Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore) and their friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) to accompany her to their family's remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. Eric finds a mysterious Book of the Dead at the cabin and reads aloud from it, awakening an ancient demon. All hell breaks loose when the malevolent entity possesses Mia."

It's important to remember just how popular 2013's Evil Dead was, both financially and critically. The film grossed over $97M in the US alone from a budget of $17M. And even though horror fans have an almost knee-jerk aversion when it comes to remakes of classic properties, it was a huge hit with genre aficionados. I remember being stunned following a Midnight Screening of Alvarez's Evil Dead, amazed at how it stayed true to Raimi's original vision while simultaneously wrenching familiar tropes and plotlines in exciting new directions. Dialing back the franchise's dark humor in favor of extreme gore and violence was a brave decision that paid off in spades. The use of practice effects with a bare minimum of CGI struck a powerful chord with many digitally-jaded moviegoers. The introduction of addiction as a plot motivator was both innovative and timely, emerging during the early years of America's ongoing opioid crisis. In many ways, one has to wonder why Ghost House and TriStar Pictures haven't already attempted to retain Alvarez and Levy for another Evil Dead film? Am I the only one why feels certain it would it be a guaranteed hit?

It's worth noting that Campbell wouldn't even be opposed to passing the torch for another actor to play Ash, but I don't that's really something anyone wants to see. You can't replace the King! Thanks to ComicBook.com for bringing us the interview.

Director Fede Alvarez Explains That The EVIL DEAD Remake Is Set in the Same Universe as the Original Films

Even though the 2013 Evil Dead film featured callbacks to the original Sam Raimi films, a lot of fans still consider it a remake of the 1981 movie. After all, the movie didn’t really offer any direct connection to any of the original films in the story. The biggest connection was the post-credits scene that involved the return of Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams,
But after all these years, the director of the film, Fede Alvarez, has confirmed that the movie is actually set in the same universe and serves more as a sequel than a remake. When asked how the film fit into the continuity of the original films, Alvarez said:

"It continues the first one. The coincidences on events between the first film and mine are not coincidences, but more like dark fate created by the evil book. (Ash car is still there rusting away)

    Simon@Zombie_Simon

@fedalvar I need to settle an argument in a group chat. Is Evil Dead a remake or is it set within the continuity of the original films?"

I really liked Alvarez’s Evil Dead movie and I’ve been hoping that one day we would get a sequel. When previously talking about the possibility of a sequel, Alvarez said:

“Look, I love those movies. Making my Evil Dead was an amazing experience, it was my first film. So, going back at some point will be a possibility. I mean, I’m really good friends with all those guys, with Bruce, and [director] Sam [Raimi], and [producer] Rob [Tapert]. So, we always chat about it."

As of right now, no script has been written and there are no plans to make it. But if one day there is a good story to tell, maybe they’ll get around to making it happen:

"The good news — and I think that’s what sometimes people don’t understand — is, none of those guys will make any of these movies just because they can, just because it’s good business. They will only make it if they believe they have some good story to tell. A lot of people say that in this industry, but most of the time it’s not true. With those guys, all of us involved in those movies, we will just make them if we believe there’s a story that has to be told, and is awesome, and is great, and we believe that it will be better than anything that will be done before in that world. [When] we find that story, when we all agree on what it is, it will probably happen.”
